New Year’s Eve and King’s Day in Big Island Hawaii – December 31, 2015 and January 6, 2016, and Slow Food Lunch in Honolulu

While in Georgia working in a vineyard, I met a young French lady biking all over the world. Her bike looked like a moving van and I befriended her. She connected me with friends of hers on the Big Island. They invited me to cook a dinner for their New Year’s Eve party.

LuLu LoLo – December 2015

How did I discover LuLu LoLo? I am an avid reader of the New Yorker and the New York Times and I discovered LuLu LoLo there dressed as Joan of Arc defending the King of France, holding the French flag. I was very set to meet her so I found her on Facebook, of course, and she was thrilled to know that I wanted to see her. The rest is history.  She’s an actress and she defends women’s rights. She has helped the putting up of the plaque in the Lower East Side where a factory of women workers burned to the ground because of bad working conditions.

There are only five monuments in New York that honor women. Do we need monuments? Not really, but do we need to further help the cause of women!!!
